Very few birds about, just the usual common ones, this morning so it was a check of everything else.

Artist's Fungus growing in various places & lots of Oyster Mushrooms on one particular tree. Turkeytail also present but not much else.
Lots of Large Skippers, a few Small Skippers, Meadow Browns & Speckled Woods, 1 Gatekeeper, 1 Large White.
A few of the common grass moths, Nettle-taps, & Straw Dots. One Cinnabar caterpillar on Ragwort.
Common Green Grasshoppers.
2 Brown Hawkers.
Hundreds of Froglets at the bottom end of the woods as I headed to Temple Road. I gave up trying not to stand on any as there were so many of them. The footpaths and the boardwalks were full of them.
Not wild animals but is was good to see the summer coats of the adult Fallow Deer and a fawn running around with it's parents at Smithills Open Farm.
Whilst photographing the Snowy Owl in it's cage I also took photos of some of the captive Fallow Deer. My photo of two bucks together shows one inside the compond, and one behind the fence in the wild. I have suspected that the ones seen by myself, and the ones reported on the forum, may have originated from here.
