1st December early afternoon :- a Jay & a calling Great Spotted Woodpecker seen on a short non-birding visit.

Great Spotted Woodpecker nest hole with noisy young inside it today. Also, a pair of Bullfinch and a singing male Goldcrest.

Green woodpecker calling loudly as I was walking past the cemetary, went on and had a look but couldn't find it.

fine views of a green woodpecker yesterday. incidently leigh cemetary is a superb birdwatching site. spend an hour there with free parking and then a walk down marsland green lane where you can often see tawny owls early evening in the summer
