RE: Hi all.

Hi Steve,
I've just got back from a wander down the bridlepath, i'll be easy for you to spot i'll be the one with the filthy Westie with me
There must have been 50 plus Canada Geese and 50 plus Carrion Crow and 40 plus Gulls on the meadowland about the only other thing of note was a Grey Heron stood at the river junction near the bowling club i swear he was shivering
The Dippers are an interesting spot as i've only seen them before up at Dovestone.

Hi Derek

welcome to the forum - but don't miss out on all the other interesting stuff elsewhere on the website.

I live in Mossley and I too spend quite a bit of time tramping up and down the Greenfield bridlepath. If you've not met me, you will have seen my bootprints

I do Wetland Bird Survey counts at Royal George and Tanners Lodges, monitor the heronry at the sewage works and watch out for the Dippers which have been colour-ringed by the South Manchester Ringing Group.

There's usually something interesting around, so look forward to your posts.

Cheers, Steve

As a newcomer to this website i noticed there doesn't seem to be a hello thread?
Forgive me if i've missed it somewhere.
Anyhow i'm on here as i've just met a chap called Graham up at Castleshaw res in Saddleworth and he told me about this website (cheer's mate)
I live in Grasscroft Saddleworth and usually do my birdwatching at Dovestone reservoir and along the bridlepath through to Greenfield.
Todays first trip to Castleshaw was excellent seeing a Buzzard,Kestrel and the Great northern diver amongst lots of others too.
I hope to meet other people around Saddleworth and i'm looking forward to chatting on here in the future
