Fantastic numbers of dragonfllies and damselflies active on the wetland reserve at Three Sisters on a quick lunchtime visit yesterday. Included vast numbers of Four-Spotted Chaser, also Emperor Dragonfly, Large Red Damselfly and either/or Broad-Bodied Chaser/Black-Tailed Skimmer. A bit rusty on dragonflies and didn't see any of the latter well enough, though pretty sure both species were present. All incredibly active in the hot, bright weather. A site well worth looking at.

Just caught a Blood Vein moth in my sons bedroom! I only ever caught 1 of these in several years of light trapping, so more than a little surprised to see one on his bedroom wall!

Purple Hairstreak briefly over the canopy of an Oak in Skitters Wood this evening

An impressive Great Diving Beetle swam down Millingford Brook this afternoon, where the water was very clear and slow moving today, looked like a snooker ball doing the breaststroke
