Out with dogs again , more time to spare though than two days ago.

Goldfinch
Common Redpoll
Green Woodpecker - Heard stifled call intermittently on two occassions and one full yaffle but frustratingly was not able to locate it. Heard one call breifly in more or less same location on 22 August, couldn't locate that one either, could this be the same bird?

8.45 - 10.00
out for brief walk with dogs before work, sunny then a heavy mist decended for a short while. Large numbers of Meadow Pipit, Linnet, Goldfinch & Skylarks passing over. Other birds included:
Swallow 50+
House Martin10+
Sand Martin
Reed Bunting 4 +
Jay 8+
Pheasant - flushed by the dogs
Lapwing
Plus all the usual woodpigeons etc.

On path back to Plank / Common Lane by football pitch a mixed flock of:
Long - tailed Tit 40+
Redpoll 30+
Siskin10+
Great Spotted Woodpecker

all in all quite a worthwhile walk even though I was a few minutes late for work
