RE: And for something a little different...

Cheers Mike for putting up images for people to see,

image quality is about as bad as i expected, that close crop is pretty grim, you can get much better and sharper results digiscoping and for the £2000 you can also have a pretty decent dslr camera and a nice lens set up instead, im sticking to my guns, its a fad that will soon pass in my humble opinion, we will see

these were on show this weekend at the Birdfair and i did manage to have a little play with them, i had a bit of a zoom in, looked at the quality of the image, i have not yet looked at the test shots but my friend Mike did put his card in them to take some test photos on his card and then he can take the card home for closer inspection, and i will reveiw back the results later, im not expecting them to be any good but on that point we will see and i could be proved wrong?

but to be honest, i thought the image quality was awful and when you zoomed in got worse, the colours and contrast made me cringe at full zoom and personally think this is a gadget that will soon be forgot about, anyone that has a pair of good bins will look through these and wince, its not nice,

if i can ill get a copy of the photos shot on the vinoculars and post so you can all have a look

This is not a review

Unlike dennis I was impressed with the view through them they seemed to me to have a good image for an EVF so I stuck a memory card in and took a video and a few snaps

The video I have not been able to view ( not got the software ) the images are here http://www.flickr.com/photos/55985722@N08/sets/72157627366556503/

I am not impressed but I did not mess with the settings and the price £2000 Try them your self if you have the time and the cash

you may say that now but will they be "the" thing in a few years time ??

I think there have been a number of attempts at something like this. I recall Zeis made a 'scope with a digital camera in the body and I've seen ads for binoculars with digital cameras embedded.

This idea of twin video cameras seems to have done away with the more traditional lenses we currently all love.
I suspect little change from £2000 for the early models.
Be nice to know when they're launched, I love a peek through them.
