Lovely day at the Common. Myself, My Wife and My 7 year old son are very novice birdwatchers. However we spotted:

The 2 great crested grebe on the lake with the 2 juveniles. These were great to watch for new birders.

the coot and their young also.

What we reckoned was a Common Buzzard soaring over the heath.

lots of martins.

apologies as we are so new at this we are struggling with identification.

Lovely day however.

CHICKS GALORE

Today we shall start with Lindow Common,

In the Tawny Owl nest box there were two healthy looking chicks!
On Black lake there were the usual crew,

Coots, with chicks
Great Crested Grebes, with chicks
and some Mallards

on to Woodpeckers..

1 Green Woodpecker
Great Spotted Woodpeckers, with chicks

there are also Plenty of warblers!

Chiffchaff[s]
Willow Warbler[s]
Garden warbler
Blackcap
[s]

To the residential prospect of Lindow!

The male Kestrel is still patrolling the Gardens of Lindow
and a Curlew was seen passing over my very own humble abode.

Down at the Fishery...

Not much..

apart from a couple of Tufties.

SOUNDS OF SPRING ON THE MOSS!

Lets start with Lindow Common First,

There were three Great Crested Grebe on Black lake, along with a water vole and a Hobby!
A Kestrel and a buzzard were seen hunting over the heathland and lots of Willow Warblers in the woods.
A pair of Tawny Owls are nesting and roosting in the box looking over the heath, and can be seen very easily as they are now hunting during the day.
A male Lesser Spotted Woodpecker was seen on a piece of deadwood by the lake.
A Garden and Grasshopper Warbler were also present with Swifts and Swallows.
