Jason - if you have a phone you can access the web with then the twitter service is miles better. Plus you can get twitter to text you for e.g megas and it just comes off your text allowance! Ive had the twitter service for about 8 months now and really rate it.

There is a phone number to ring and ask I believe

There is also a fairly comprehensive review of their service on the Manchester Birding website which also has full pricing details.

One and the same Paul but the trial is not limited to an exact period as Birdnet are very flexible on it. Sooner or later though you'll have to choose (and yes, I have been contacted by Birdnet and know who has registered on it).

By only having birdnational though you miss out on all the county level stuff from around our region and indeed as many regions as you'd so desire. This is really where the service excells.

Is BirdNet and BirdNational the same? I've been using BirdNational for over a month now and haven't paid anything.

You really need to ring them and speak to them. If you're only getting the national news then you're getting half a service and not experiencing it's full potential. Birdnet can let you know how to access the full service, simply by letting them know which regions you want etc. Their number is 0115 871 2888.

Remember though that this service is not free and it's only the trial that's free.

I suspect that if you pay you'll get options.

Bit of mis-information there Tim wink.gif

Birdnet offer a free two week (to a maximum of 4) trial on their birdnational service and it is this you're alluring to. After this period you'll be asked to join up to their full twitter service which of course offers you so, so, much more and is frankly very cheap anyway. Full details can be found on the product review on the website.

Incidentally, the free trial doesn't usually offer you the full number of characters so some messages may be cut short but Birdnet are currently working around this to provide trial users with the complete messages wink.gif

Aha! There had to be a catch. wink.gif

For those who have an iPhone or android sign up for Twitter and follow @birdnational You get (for now) free sightings tweets from around the UK plus regional sightings too. Looks like they are building a new business via the free route so get in while you can
