Kenworthy Lane Woods

Northenden is my new 'neck of the woods', so have started to mooch around Kenworthy Lane Woods a fair bit.

KL Woods

Female Sparrowhawk perched, then on patrol

R. Mersey

Flock L/T Tits at very close range
Grey Wagtail
Reed Bunting (m)
3 x Mistle Thrush rucking
Chaffinch (m / f)

KL Woods

Nuthatch
Whilst locating the calling Nuthatch, saw a flock of Starling-sized birds descend on the tree tops. They were very flitty and I only got a clear view of one for a short time. It had a white breast with bold black streaking, the head looked darker and streaked. They then roved off over the treetops. I was very confused for a while, but have concluded they must have been Redwings.

Chaffinch (f)
Whilst watching the Chaffinch (treetop), another bird of similar dimension flitted through, briefly. My only impression was that it looked like one big streak. Probably a female Siskin.
Song Thrush

Northenden Riverside Park

Goosander (m)
Greenfinch x 4
