Greaves wood crooke


Oakwood meadows fields 5 Skylark
12 Meadow pipit
Crooke wood M Bullfinch ,M Blackcap
Willow warbler,Chiffchaff,Drumming GSWoodpecker
Several Nuthatch heard.

20 plus Linnet in the adjourning stubble
Plenty of redwing still near Oakwood meadows field
2 snipe also

No birds yet in heronry not looking good at all
6 singing Nuthatch
4 Goldcrest
72 Linnets in adjoining stubble field.

I watched a Kingfisher perched near the pipeline over the canal near crooke
It attempted to catch some fish but no luck as I was watching.
2 snipe and 6 meadow pipits flushed near crooke wood
Also a huge male I presume Roe deer near crooke path.

Lapwing and juvenile in the field near crooke wood
Observed from crooke path
1st time in around fifteen years I've noticed

Right at the entrance to the steps on lawns wood
On crooke path
Very vocal but very skulking garden warbler
Took me 35 mins to finally get it :-0
Just got a good look at it finally wink.gif

After seeing the ring ouzel in the morning at astley moss
Spent a couple of hours on local patch
M and f black caps near the steps on lawns wood
Also female reed bunting picking up nest material
Pair of bullfinches also here.
Singing yellowhammer on crooke path
Female sparrowhawk over greaves wood
Pair of ltts building their nest in greaves wood
Right next to where I was standing oblivious to me wink.gif

Walk around crooke wood approaching
Dusk
Several grey herons back on the heronary
Being tormented by large group of jackdaws.
Couple of nuthatches,willow tit,treecreeper.
Heard green woodpecker yaffle coming from
Inside the robrite works.

2 buzzards soaring in the field next to the wood
Heard gsw,redwing flock,song thrushes
Goldcrest.Female sparrowhawk showing well
In the bushes on the field near robrite entrance.
