Walk along Ship Canal from Warburton to Partington Coal basin 2 - 4 pm

Cormorant 8+
Coot 17
Mallard 14
Tufted 20
Pochard 1
Goldeneye 3
Gadwall 5
Teal 5
Great Crested Grebe 2
Little Grebe 9
Heron 1
Green Sandpiper (near end of Lock Lane)
Sparrowhawk
Kestrel

Also 6 Goosander on River Mersey at Carrington, and Raven at Carrington

Raven on pylon near centre of Partington lunch time. Then chased off by Carrion Crows.

about 1 p.m. Lesser spotted woodpecker calling on edge of wood between water treatment works and ship canal.
Also Tree Sparrow on Warburton Lane where it crosses Red Brook.
