Disturbance by 'birders'

Just a quickie though unfortunately both necessary and important.

It has come to light (thanks to certain site regulars) that a recent Jack Snipe site at Werneth Low has suffered unacceptable disturbance. There is no particular evidence that it was actually a birder involved but someone climbed over a barbed wire fence and wandered around the area where it was seen. Their (the trespassing individual, not the snipe) footprints could easily be seen in the snow! I need not remind birders of the potential impact this could have for the bird, other birders and indeed birding in general. I would like to point out though that such individuals who seemingly ignore the welfare of the bird(s) are not welcome on this forum and unfortunately this is not an isolated incident in the county.

We all have a responsibility to think carefully before we press that submit post button and I reiterate that should you need to discuss aspect of your sighting and potential post or indeed have any concerns over a post already posted, I am always available any time, day or night.
