You cant drive to Cant Clough but there is a car park at the bottom of Hurstwood Lane, Worsthorne. If you take the path on the right hand fork it will bring you to the Cant Clough Res. Seed is scattered for the Twite on the ground where the path meets the Res. The left hand fork from the car park takes you to Hurstwood Res.
Sheddon Clough plantation is always worth checking, especially in winter, for Redpoll and Brambling. And this summer there was a male Wood Warbler for a short time. You can get to it from Coal Clough Res, but we always walk down to this site from the car park west of the windfarm on The Long Causeway.
On both these walks over the years we have seen Wheatear, Whinchat and Ring ousel. SE owls used to be regular near the windfarm.
Was just looking for some info Re Cant Clough Reservoir. I know its not (strictly speaking) local but was looking for info re the site - whether you can park near the res or if you have to walk down to it and best locations to visit. Anyone with any experience of this location would be greatly appreciated.
