With today's weather being a bit unsettled, I decided that a trip to Ogston Reservoir was in order for the reported Red-Rumped Swallow.
On arriving at around 3.30pm, the bird was soon in the bins viewable from the West Car Park flying around the buoys and catching insects with the House Martins, Swallows and Swifts.
With the rain starting to come down, we decided to go into the nearby hide where we had cracking views of the bird through the 'scope as it flew low up and down the reservoir feeding happily away.
The Red-Rumped was still present when we headed off for home at 4.30pm.
Another great bird this weekend after yesterday's trip to Seaforth!!!
