Walked along the canal to Romiley . On leaving the first section of the canal
up the steps over the tunnel past the farm which used to be a café In the
large tree opposite the farm was my first Cuckoo of the year .

Late news yesterday, 5th March

2 Dippers on the River Goyt under the bridge at Glossop Road.

One was both metal ringed and lime green colour ringed. I never got a good look at the legs of the other individual.

Cheers, John

BBC's NW Tonight yesterday featured a Tawny Owl box with a camera, which held: 1 adlut Tawny, 2 owlets and 2 Mandarin ducklings - all just hatched. The ducklings were desperately trying to get out of the box. An update tonight said the ducklings had managed to get out. Am trying to contact the owner Mary Hartley.
