Earlier today, a Little Gull hawking for all the emerging upwing flies, downstream of the A59 bridge. Was there for a couple of hours, might well be present tomorrow given the mild weather. Couple of large "non-Mute" Swans went over heading North, presume Whooper from the size.

Female Goosander with seven young in tow 2 Dippers near the bridge Female Mallard with about ten ducklings Two drake Mallards Lots of swallows over the fields Curlew calling Chaffinch and Chiffchaff singing loudly in the woods near Stonyhust College Lots of unidentified warblers - still learning the calls Grey Heron over the river on the way home

Now approximate 80 birds at Barrow, Whalley. Sometimes the flock goes into the garden of the house next door to The Eagle restaurant where the previous owner planted many species rowans, which are attractive to Waxwings.
Waxwings are here and about a week earlier than usual. This morning I saw 7 birds at Trafford Gardens, Barrow, Whalley and 3 in Booths Car park, Clitheroe. There is also a bigger flock at Burnley Cemetery.

a walk between marles wood and dinckley. 1 dipper 1 common sand 3 oystercatcher 1 goosander with 5 gorgeous striped chicks.mother saw off a heron who got too close 1 buzzard over 1 green woodpecker 2 grey wagtail 3 pied wagtail at least 7 nuthatch 3 singing blackcaps a walk at osbaldeston hall lots of swallows around the farm 1 curlew 5 oystercatcher too many sand martins to count.its the most ive ever seen in this locale.cant wait to see the numbers when the young ones fledge,
