personally i like to use the word, Moran, it describes the characters in context perfectly though scroat is also pretty good smile.gif

I'm happy with either spelling. We all know the meaning of the word and rarely need a field guide to identify one!

Perhaps Scroat/Scrote sightings should be logged and mapped for the new Bird Atlas so that we know where to avoid to enjoy scroat-free birdwatching smile.gifsmile.gif

i've noticed over the last couple of days that there has been two different spellings of the colloquial defining undesirables in areas of birding interest.

for the sake of clarity could be decide on a definitive spelling?

scrote or scroat?

i personally feel it's scrote derived from scrota.

i can think of where an alternative spelling might have originated but am willing to listen to ideas...
