Hi Dave - Westwood is the flash to the west of Pearsons flash, i.e if you are walking with Pearsons on your right - towards wigan - Westwood is the next water body you come to. Its not as big as the others.
or if you park at poolstock church,which i normally do,cross the main road get onto the canal bank,turn right,walk approx 300 yards and its the first flash on the left side of the canal,but you will have to cross to the other side of the canal at the first bridge/lock

I will be taking in the delights of the Wigan Flashes tomorrow for a bit of birding and looking for a few mushrooms (not hallucinogenic ). Just wondered if someone can tell me where 'Westwood' is at the Wigan Flashes?
