RE: One year in and thanks

Might change the biog Sid - but not just yet! I'm still too embarassed about the Reed Bunting ID question I asked you less than a year ago to change just yet!

Craig, you've inspired me to try and search my badge out!

Cheers, Peter

Oh yes - still have it proudly displayed on the bag I lug some of my gear around in. Hopefully it will be worth something in a few years.

As it's a year since I joined and as I've had so much help from so many people on here I just wanted to say a quick thank you! Firstly to Ian for such an excellent forum and the wider website and also to Sid, Phil, Paul, Henry, the Penny regulars who've helped me a few times and everyone else who's given me pointers, hints and tips.

After a twenty year gap from when I was a member of the YOC [anyone else remember the Kestrel Badge!] I've never stopped looking out for birds but I've really enjoyed taking it back up seriously this year - thanks in part to taking up photography and wondering what to photograph! Thanks to this forum and having a job which means I travel around a bit I've seen 209 species and photographed 206 in the past year or so.

Best bits have been re-learning field craft and my gradually improving ID skills, worst bits some of the unacceptable behaviour witnessed...now looking forward to retirement or at least the kids getting bigger, so I can make the time for a local patch to do some in depth birding! Cheers, Peter
