Aldi had a nest box kit with a camera for £39.99 at Ashton in Makerfield when I popped in on Friday but could only see one.

I am now watching a lovely fluffed up Blue tit fast asleep on the floor of the box. I had no idea that it was roosting in there and it certainly beats watching the X factor, smile.gif

Hi John

I picked up one of the bird box camera kits from Aldi last year and it has been a great success. Very easy to install, its basically plug it in and wait for the birds to investigate. I have watched Blue,Great tits and Wrens in the box. The Blue tits began to build a nest then decided to used one of my other nest boxes last year but already this year a pair of Blue tits have been in for a look around.

Only problem seems to be with slight interference with the sound but the camera works a treatsmile.gif

Great bits of kit John. Mine sends the signal to a reciever without wires. It was difficult to get working initially with water shorting the transformer, as the connectors weren't waterproof even though they were supposed to be waterproof!
It's worth trying to get the picture up in the comfort of your own lounge, especially if you can see the outside of the box through the window to add to the inside view on the TV.
Good luck to you and the bird box residents this coming breeding season. Henry,

Bought one of these kits from Aldi today (see the 'Aldi, Netto etc birding related special offers' thread) and they were going like hot cakes. Hazel Grove branch had sold more than half its stock within 2 hours of opening this morning.

Having tested the camera by connecting directly to the telly it seems to work very well at close range - very clear and decent enough colour. The camera also includes 'night vision' LEDs so you can continue watching at night.

I was thinking of rigging up a telly in the shed rather than drilling through the house brickwork to reach the lounge telly.

I just wondered if anyone out there has experience of these kits and perhaps could offer advice.

Cheers, John
