I've read in the local paper that United Utilities are replacing sewer overflow points in Dukinfield and Stalybridge to help prevent sewage litter being released into the river. Definitely a good thing This will start in April this year and last until summer next at various locations in Dukinfield and Stalybridge. The article only mentions which roads will be affected, but it will be interesting to see what, if anything happens to the river over this period.
