Amongst several other reports of the species Birdguides (Birdnews extra) are reporting Waxwing in Reddish this afternoon - any one know of it/them?

Surprised we had not had more sightings of these. Especially since we have had a hard winter.

Last year was a very good year.

Just read the excellent Arrivals and Rivals by Adrian Riley and I think? Lee Evans is his big twitching rival and the pantomime villain in the book

Anne - looking at Lee Evans blog below there is a belief is food in running short in the north and they might be over soon.

I have heard on the grapevine that there are thousands of Waxwings congregated in southern Sweden. If the winds are favorable, could we see another invasion this year?
