still don't like rings on birds,expecially all, the reed bunts at penny,but it is nice to know a knot has travelled 1000 of miles to winter on the ribble,and over 10 years must have travelled 20,000 + miles.So i suppose thats proof that even with that many rings on one bird,it was living happily with all the others,and could have been the oldest knot at southport that day
just thought you maybe interested in a ringed knot i photographed on the ribble and sent off to the netherlands ringing group-it ended up being 10 years old ,which is a goodly number for a knot info below
