me neither with the teal tbh! Mallard i have seen, Just this week my mother in law had a few given her which upset Brandon and his brother as they were on the kitchen table unplucked! But teal is a new one for me in my veggie bubble.

I've eaten Wigeon a couple of years ago from Wigan market.

I'm not trying to wind you up, fair play to you on being a veggie.

Teal is fairly commonly shot, as shown by good returns on ringing of that species. From relatively modest numbers ringed at Pennington Flash in the late 1990's there were a couple of recoveries from Russia, plus at least one in Ireland I think. Never seen it for sale personally.

The butcher / fishmonger across from where i work in wilmslow, have a large sign outside advertising teal, pheasant and mallard all available ready dressed! Glad i'm a veggie is all i can say...... pheasant i expect to see as it's a game bird but mallard and teal was a little surprise. Maybe my sheltered veggie lifestyle kept me blinkered all this time!
