I used to see them regularly when I worked on the business park at Pegasus House.

A colleague of mine had to rescue some chicks that fell down a drain on the road there.

Thanks Sid

I worked round the corner for about four years (King's Business Park) but never saw them, so I'm glad you confirmed they are in the area.

Cheers.

Andrew, my sister-in-law lives about a mile from the safari park and she regularly has Red Legged Partridge in her garden - in fact the female with three chicks trotted across her lawn a couple of weeks ago. I have also seen them in the fields behind the park -so yes they are quite common in the area.

I took the kids to Knowsley Safari Park today (probably a bad start).

There were three red-legged partridges there. I don't know if this is of interest to anyone, but I also would be interested to know to what extent they are wild. They were simply pecking away in an open, muddy field, and the second time we saw them they had moved quite far (so presumably flew).

I've never seen this species before, so I was looking at them when everyone else was looking at exotic African beasts. biggrin.gif
