RE: Ospreys

possible pair of osprey over our house 8pm (Stretford) circling and heading towards Urmston, definatley big birds of prey, very large and very high up, partial white under wing and darker to the tip of the tail , soaring the whole 7 or 8 minutes we watched. They were flying above several swifts which were also high up, they were right at the limit of my camera lens but i did get some snaps which are not that good but show the basic outline although they look a little gullish in the photo's. Through the bins they were much clearer and brownish tails and wing edges with white under belly. Anyone elsesee them?

Sorry to disappoint but the direction would take them towards possibly the Irwell Valley or east Manchester

Great record - they'd be right on course for Pennington...

2 Ospreys seen 1645hrs today flying over Warren Drive, Swinton. eastwards towards the direction of Swinton Park Golf Course. The birds were relatively low and clearly identifiable.
