Quick visit this evening for the Red-Necked Grebe in summer plumage.

What a magnificent bird and a lifer for me!!!

The reserve itself which now belongs to the WWT is just off Junction 31 of the M6 and on the site of the old quarry and surely has lots of potential for a rare wader or two.

Speaking with other people there, we were really impressed with the place and are really looking forward to it's official opening whenever that is due to be??
