"We Three" were there between 11.pm - 12.30pm and saw the same as you Pete with the exception of the Spoonbill. Saw a Chiff Chaff and a Whitethroat on the way down.

Spoonbill showed well today - rose out of far reed bed to have a flying dispute with an egret - then flew back down and showed at the front of the reeds briefly. From the path back up it was clearly, if distantly visible. Also 12 northern Wheatear, dunlin, common tern and only three avocet - sadly looks to have been some serious predation even the Black Headed gulls were down to five or six...

Little egrets seemed to be everywhere today ,four buzzards using the thermals above the woods being harrased by the local crow population.I was realy searching for one of my favourite birds a Hobby but not a chance cry.gifalthough there were loads of swallows and house martins about.
lots of white throtes and one lesser white throte along the path leading to the hide and chiff chaff and willow warblers also in abundance. Also worth a mention was one common lizard on the boardwalk nearly stood on by my mate Vernon ,who has trouble seeing a barn door at three paces.oops forgot you found the two common tern amongst the black headed gulls.
Six spotted redshank in full summer plumage in amongst the black tailed godwits, two dunlin, six avocets but not much else.
Oh forgot to mention the great spotted woodpecker at the feeding station.

ring tail hen harrier, wheatears, sedge, grasshopper warblers, common whitethrotes on Denhall lane.
