I agree, good for wintering Corm Bunting and Yellowhammer this field, but what does ringing pits mean ? nothing to do with bird ringing I suspect ?

Lancashire Wildlife Trust has purchased Ringing Pits from Peel Holdings (f38 on the field map elsewhere on this website). This is excellent news as this area was being cut by hand so had not been destroyed like many other parts of the peat bog. They have also appointed 2 Mosslands Officers (Chris Miller and Thom Dallimore) who will be working out of their Bolton office on 01204 663754
