Hi Tim, I have a Cyber-shot C902 and it's a real pain in the backside trying to post from it. It usually takes about 3 attempts to log-in, it keeps saying that cookies aren't enabled or something, even though they are enabled! When I do eventually log-in, it seems to kick me out when I jump from one topic to another, and so have to repeat the whole process again! I think it's time i got an EyePhone...

Thanks Rob that's the same model as mine so obviously it's not defective just a general problem with something it's not really built for.

Tim

My computer is an Imac but my new phone is a Sony Ericsson Cyber-shot which was free with a ludicrously cheap deal off T-Mobile and I love it. Deal was incl. 2000 texts and 1000 minutes of calls with £200 useable credit each month for just £25 per month! Can anyone else make one of these work for posting? The screen is tiny for internet and it's mainly a camera with phone attached. The Sony software provided is PC but photos transfer to the Mac via Bluetooth. Wouldn't want an Iphone and the exorbitant O2 package. Maybe when they get sensible....

I very rarely am unable to get a reception of some sorts Paul, either G3 or EDGE and they still perform admirably, though I haven't been to Binn Green since I've got it (I'll be up there on my bike soon though!). If you can't get a mobile reception at all though Paul you're knackered, same as with any other type of phone or network.

Version three Apple Mac Get your phone 'jailbroken' Paul and you'll need for nowt (of course I am not saying mine is nor would I encourage others to jailbreak their phone, just incase Apple are reading ).

Ian

Have you tried using your iPhone in places you don't get mobile reception as I would like to know whether it still picks up on broadband. Binn Green springs to mind, as I had to drive back down the road towards Mossley before I got a signal on my phone but as yet have not tried using my iPhone up there. Version 3 of the software comes out this summer and makes it more like a personal organiser.
All you need now is an Apple Mac computer and we've got you converted.
I can sychronise Music, Video and photos as well as contacts, calendars, etc making it very versatile and would reccommend it to anyone

I'm no expert but the type of phone is important as is your connection. Some phones struggle to cope with the amount of data taking place during a connection to the Internet and are desperately so and often freeze. I used a Nokia N95 up to recently and although I could view and post on the forum the screen size and processor capability of the phone made it difficult and slow, but still useable. For the past few months I've been using an Iphone and it has genuinly revolusionised my forum useage (saddo!). It is almost as quick as my computer even whilst out and about using the 3G network but at home or at loads of free broadband locations ( the phone picks broadband connections up automatically) it is simply lightening fast, the screen is great and qwerty keyboard a pleasure to use, coupled to free Internet access at all times I can easily moderate the forum whenever and many birders send me their sightings so I can post them anytime, anywhere when they cannot. Using the Internet in general is exactly the same as using it on your computer and the possibilities are endless, imagine having your computer in your pocket at all times and how useful that could be.

By the way, I'm at work tonight and have posted this from my phone
