RE: DODGY DUCKS

Back in 2004, Stockport MBC misguidedly (and possibly illegally) introduced 9 Red-crested Pochards to Bruntwood Park and Bramall Park Lakes. This would appear to be the last one of these? I don't think they were properly pinioned.

John, Dippers are most likely the pair I saw on the Goyt at Chadkirk a week or two back...
The ringed bird does appear to be sporting a white ring from a distance, but on closer inspection of the photos I took of the bird I found it to be a metalic BDO style ring.

Interesting to hear of developments at the Roman Lakes...I've not been down that way for some time, so might well pay a visit.

Correction - the Red-crested Pochard is still present.

No Red-crested Pochard at Roman Lakes but a nice drake Gadwall on the main lake - these are scarce round our neck of the woods.

Also a pair of Dipper on the Goyt, one unringed and the second with a pale (whitish-green?) ring on right leg - too distant to be certain.

Cheers, John
