RE: Possible Bolton Red Kite 24/02

A Red Kite was seen on Holcombe Hill near Rd Brook on 17th March, by Robert Archer. Maybe the same bird that was at Greenmount?

The finder of the Red Kite has now been in touch with me. He was at the S end of Greenmount Golf Course, Tottington at 1208 hrs, and had binoculars with him. Lucky guy!

I received an indirect report of a Red Kite over Tottington, Bolton at 2:51pm today (observer still not confirmed) and then a report of a possible/probable over Greenmount, Bolton at 12:10 soon after! Clearly worth keeping an eye to the skies.
