This bird has been re-found and appears to be a Greater Scaup after the upper wing pattern was seen.

Last night on Heaton Park Res. Simon Johnson and myself found an Aythea which looked good for a female Lesser Scaup, the only thing we didn't see well enough was the upper wing pattern.
The bird is not there today. As it was associating with Tufted Duck it is worth giving a good coat of looking at to any Tufties on your local water,as it must be somewhere.
