Another excellent and very informative article Ian. Thanks for writing it and Adrian for the pics of these very special Manc birds!
I was amazed to see the pic of one of the birds on Vicci station tram platform, as in years of getting the tram home from there I never saw a single one. But that might be due to the fact I didn't know they were around until the last few years.
Seeing these birds for myself was only made possible thanks to the forum so I am very grateful to it.

As usual Svensson provides the basis but I've spent several years carefully studying them in the UK and abroad which is of course essential in understanding it all (though I still have questions )

Many thanks to Ian & Adrian for the excellent article. It brought back some great memories as I was there when Adrian took a lot of the photos. It also goes a long way to answering some of the questions we were asking each other by e-mail (in those bygone pre-forum days) about first summer plumage.

Where did you get the information about the different morphs, Ian? It's all new to me - is it in Svensson?
