Common Sandpiper below the locks at 08:00 this morning

Surprisingly 5 Swift over my house 18:00 tonight. Thought they had long gone

Also dipped on the Dipper, there's a steady stream of Swifts going over the house & drifting South

Dipper still present this evening on the R Mersey by Carrington Road

2 Common Terns flying east over Stott Drive at 1415 today. Also a first for me, a Whitethroat in the front garden.

Common Sandpiper, Kingfisher and a juvenile Great Crested grebe below the locks this morning at 08:10

A first for the garden with a Stock Dove. Not very exciting but different.

Just 2 House Martins flying around Woodsend shops.

Belated update but there were 3 House Martins flying around Woodsend Shops last Thursday.

Finally, 1 House Martin at Woodsend shops. Better late than never!

Pair of Goldeneye below the locks at 8am. The male took off and flew downstream , the female tried to follow but didnt appear to be able to fly - the male returned after a couple of minutes.

Willow Tit 1 calling heard from the Hill at SJ 737 938, looking west and 1 seen singing at approx. SJ 738 939...the regular site on the Hill.

Sorry, it should be 732 but also more like 938. If you know the area, go down Dunster Drive and follow the track towards the farm. Past the farm with Jack Lane NR on your left up to a T-junction. Turn right and just a bit further along, either side of the track.
If you park at Dutton's Pond, walk south towards the tunnel under the railway. If you go through the tunnel, take the first track off right up the hill and at the end of the trees a pair have been calling. If you don't go through the tunnel turn right along a track with the railway on your left. Keep going past the reed beds at Jack Lane NR and you come to the same T-junction as the other route. Continue on a little.

Willow Tit 2 about 5 m apart calling to each other at SJ 738 938. Top of the north-most path down off the hill.

This morning a willow warbler singing around the scout hut on Woodsend Crescent Road.

Different walk to Dutton's Pond, FlyAsh Hill(possibly called Green Hill), Jack Lane and home.

Willow Tit 1 singing southern boundary of Wellacre Academy field. That's make 2 males for the patch...hooray.

About 20 sand Martins back at the Mersey in Urmston, off Queens road. Last years nest holes all washed away. Glorious down there today with lots of people litter picking.
