Stott Drive, Dutton's Pond, FlyAsh Hill, Jack Lane and return.

Totals of 16 singing Blackcaps plus 1 Juvenile seen, 5 singing Willow Warblers, 12 singing Chiffchaffs, 5 singing Whitethroats plus 3 males and 1 female seen and 7 singing Song Thrushes.

5 singing Reed Warblers at Jack Lane but only short bursts, plus 1 Reed Bunting and another 2 west of the Hill.

Also west of the Hill was a Willow Tit.

An adult Herring Gull was with 2 Lesser Black-backs on Wellacre College.

Just seen an adult Herring Gull with an adult Lesser Black-backed Gull on Stott Drive. I'm not surprised by the LBB sighting but a bit surprised with the Herring Gull.

Female Goldeneye still just downstream of Irlam Locks, along with 3 Great Crested Grebes.

100+ Starlings on the ETW. Also 1 House Martin, 6 Sand Martins and 6 Swallows.

2 singing Garden Warblers and a singing Goldcrest on the Hill. Along with 4 Whitethroats, 5 Blackcaps, 2 Willow Warblers and 4 Chiffchaffs.

Plenty of other stuff as usual.

14 Common Gulls on Wellacre College field, along with 60+ Black-headed Gulls, 5 Jackdaws, 6 Rooks and a Grey Heron.

Seen from/on Fly Ash Hill were 1 Lapwing, 1 Buzzard, 1 female Kestrel and a male and female Goosander.

A field behind Arundel Avenue held 70+ Linnets, 10+ Meadow Pipits, 10+ Pied Wagtails and 5 Mistle Thrushes.

Had a mooch along the River Mersey which is the boundary of the field opposite the brick works and yard off Mile Rd.

Numerous Wood Pigeon heading for Salford Mosses from Carrington Moss
Carrion Crows same as above

1 Cormorant
Numerous Goldfinch, Bullfinch, Greenfinch, Chaffinch , Robins and Dunnocks on the river banks.

1 Female Goldeneye frequenting the area opposite Mossdales up to the back of the Industrial Yard.

A few highlights from my Stott Drive to Fly Ash Hill and along to the Canal.

Goldcrest. 2 singing...good to hear for someone of my age!
Ringed-neck Parakeet. At least 2 in wood behind Wellacre College field.
Also a Nuthatch in the wood and 5 Lesser Black-backed Gulls on the field along with 50+ Black-headed Gulls, a Rook and a Jackdaw.
Buzzard 2

Oystercatcher 4 at the ETW.
Cormorant 4
Grey Wagtail 3 adults and 1 juvenile.
Pied Wagtail 1 adult and 2 juveniles.
Sand Martin 2
Swallow 8+
Great crested Grebe 2 adults.

Nice day for a walk from Stott Drive to FlyAsh Hill, with return via Jack Lane and down to the Canal and back.

2 Herring Gull adults still on Wellacre College field, with a calling Stock Dove nearby.

1 singing Willow Tit at Jack Lane, with another seen further along the path towards the Canal. 1 male Blackcap seen at Jack Lane and 1 singing near the Canal.

Total of 10 singing Chiffchaffs but no Willow Warblers as yet.

Flock of 14 House Sparrows on the way back.
