Firecrest still present in Dukinfield park this morning. It was in the area at the top of the first set of big steps from the main entrance and in trees to the left.
Lots of other bird activity around including a number of Redwings.
Dukinfield Park. - Firecrest still present early afternoon. Took Lucas after his football. Heard it behind the bowling pavilion first off but didnt see it. Saw it briefly on southern edge of bowling green, then another birder picked it up a short while later. Very active for the most part but did show ok a couple of times. Main thing is Lucas got a Lifer and he loved the adventure playground just yards away.
Also of note - 3 Goldcrests in immediate area but possibly 6 over whole park - 1 Great Spotted Woodpecker - c10 Redwings feeding - 2 Fieldfare - 1 Song Thrush - 1 Mistle Thrush - 2 Nuthatch - 2 Chaffinch - 1 Greenfinch - small group of Goldfinch
Firecrest still present in Dukinfield Park at 1pm. It went into hiding when the rain started, but was in the row of trees leading up to where Simon saw it this morning.

Monday 27th Feb. The Firecrest showed several times between 14:45-15:45 at the upper end of Dukinfield Park, feeding in trees behind the bowling pavilion. A vocal group of Redwing feeding and a Nuthatch. At least 2 Goldcrest also present. Good to have a chat with Roger Baker.
11/2/23 Just seen a Firecrest in our Dukinfield garden, can't quite believe it but seen well through binoculars, broad white supercilium and orange crown stripe clearly seen.
Walk from Stalybridge to Ashton (Asda) on the canal this morning. Highlights were 3 Grey Wagtail, two of which were getting in the spring spirit. Two Dipper flying downstream where the Tame goes under the canal.
Seven Ring-necked Parakeets flew over Morrisons in Dukinfield this evening, possibly landing in the trees at the top of Chapel Street as I could hear at least one calling from there.
Brief 20 mins walk through Eastwood at lunch time. Two Treecreepers and a Nuthatch with a mixed tit flock. Two more Nuthatches elsewhere in the wood, plus four Redwing were the best birds.
A nice mini murmuration of between 200-300 Starlings most evenings at the top (East) of Dewsnap Lane in Dukinfield currently. Between 15:30 and 16:00 best time. Last week 2 Sparrowhawk hunting them seemingly together a la Peregrine style. Roosting in the 2 Poplar Trees.
Driving across Bailey Street this morning, I thought I saw a small Canada Goose with the flock of Canada's on the River Tame. Might be worth checking if anyone is able.
Amazing sighting this morning in next doors garden, whilst scanning for a couple of warblers I thought I could see flitting about I dropped on a Spotted Flycatcher sat out in the tree top. Watched for a minute or so before it flew out of sight. I did pick up one of the warblers a little later that one was a Willow Warbler.
First for me on my morning cycle, a Common Sandpiper on the Ashton Canal just East of Guide Bridge train Station, towards Portland Basin. Also a Willow Warbler, and a Sand martin over. 07.10am.
