10am to midday. cool but bright.
I walked the Mersyway between the weir and just past the Thelwall viaduct.

On the weir:-
6 goldeneye (3m, 3f) drakes displaying.
2 shellduck
1 mute swan
1 g.c. grebe
40 tufties
8 mallards
b.h. gulls and common gulls.

on the river
4 mute swans
3 teal
20+ mallard
40+ tufties
22 canada's
1 buzzard in tree
1 grey heron
1 grey wagtail in wet paddock
goldfinch, greeenfinch, chaffinch, robin, dunnock, blackbird and songthrush in the hedgerows.

10-15am cloudy and misty.

First time out since boxing day when I managed to damage my ankle so some viewing without too much walking.

10 goldeneye (4 drakes)
89 tufties
40 approx mallards
3 mute swans (1 juv.)

1 kingfisher
10 herring gull
2 bullfinch (m&f)
3 goldcrest
2 robins
2 blue tits

3pm dull, rain threatening

Quick visit on my way home.
