RE: Bird Atlas 2007-11

Just to update the previous posting:

please could anyone submitting Atlas records on paper forms please get them to me by the first week in September? Data submitted later is just as valuable but will mean a delay in those records being fed back to counties doing local atlases (such as Greater Manchester!).

Many thanks again to all atlas contributors. Steve Atkins and I had a review meeting last weekend and progress is pretty good so far.

Today is the last day of the recording period for the Atlas's first breeding season. Many thanks to all who have contributed - you can have a rest now until the second winter's recording period starts in November!

Please can all surveyors enter up their records as soon as possible, either online or on paper (by post to me, please).

If you have covered all the tetrads allocated to you and wish to take on a new one for the next year (or if you want to get involved for the first time) just let me know. You can see what areas remain to be covered by logging on at www.birdatlas.net and clicking on "Request Tetrads".

Don't forget that all the Bird Atlas data will be used to help us compile a new Greater Manchester Bird Atlas as well as the national one.

Thanks again for your dedication to this work (I'm sure you all enjoyed it!).

Steve
