Recieved this info on 30/07/08-sorry for the late posting but I have been on holiday.smile.gif

Thanks a lot for having transmitted to Otto Overdijk the sighting of Spoonbill Wa/GRY made by Mark Rigby. I have ringed this spoonbill as young in nest at Lac de Grand-Lieu (Loire Atlantique, F) on the 27/5/2008 (metal ring CA 68965), this is its first sighting (bird also seen at Hayle Estuary in Cornwall on the 28/7/2008).

Best wishes,

Dr Loïc Marion

No reply yet about its origins from the European spoonbill co-ordinator.

The colour ringed Spoonbill found on the evening of Sat 5th July at Horrock's Flash, Wigan, only stayed until 1015hrs on Sunday 6th July.evileye.gif

It was re-located on Mon 7th July in South Wales on the Ogmore Estuary.

It has since been re-located further south and is now in Devon at Exminster Marshes RSPB.
