yes that was me. and i saw a tawny owl today in more or less the same area as i saw the red kite.
the buzzard was further north from where i saw the red kite - the red kite was around the pilsworth junction and this bird was 1 mile before the bury turn off - a little before the red brick houses. i just caught sight of something sat there, hunched up, more or less a similar colour to the tree branches - bigger than a kestrel or sparrowhawk for sure. i assume it was buzzard because of size and colour. although admittedly the bird could have been any bird of prey. i doubt it was a red kite though as im sure they would have been larger than that and their colouring would have showed up more - this bird was very camouflaged - in summer it would have been hidden completely.

didnt someone report a red kite in that area a couple of weeks back?

raptor , mot likely a buzzard perched in a small decidious tree on the m66 1 mile north of bury southbound - the raptor appeared to have a paler neck and was brown coloured
