RE: yellow-browed warbler at scotsmans flash 15/10

From finishing work yesterday at 13.30 and including today, I`ve put in just under 8 hours searching for this bird, to no avail. It`s more than I do for a shift at work, and I didn`t get paid ! furious.gif

The Scotsmans Yellow-browed has been reported twice today (the 17th), in the morning and early afternoon (sorry, both times are very vague) in the same area as before, unfortunately the sightings are unconfirmed (having come from the bird information services) and despite searching by several observers from 2:30pm (ish), up to the time of this posting it still had not been refound confused.gif

No sign of the bird in a search by Dave early this am cry.gif

It could of course still be present, having moved to another area of the (pretty vast!) wigan flashes but I have to admit that both recent Yellow-broweds are perhaps unlikely to be hanging around having probably made landfall nearer the east coast and now moving through the country still heading west...next stop the Atlantic and certain death if they're unlucky bleh.gif

Likely there's afew more to pass through yet though but as both these birds were pretty much silent (the Scotsmans bird only called once, just to attract Dave's attention wink.gif) they may well not be as noticeable as we'd like them. Eye's open everyone.

date broome found a yellow browed warbler in the north west corner of scotsmans flash at 5:50pm today. The bird was calling and making its way towards the old railway line there where there may be some suitable habitat if it sticks around either way its another great bird for the county and dave's already huge garden list!
