Steady week with 4 to 9 Parakeets flying over Hulme Community Garden Centre every morning, except Tuesday, between 7.25 / 7.45am, always East to West. Friday - only morning 7 interrupted flyover and perched in tall tree on Northern boundary, stayed 2 or so minutes before continuing journey Westwards.
On my way to Liverpool this morning travelling along Hyde Rd, Gorton, towards the city. 2 birds screeching away flying almost level height of the van and right at the side of me from Tan Yard Brow towards Chapman Street but then veered off higher left towards Sunny Brow / Levenshulme. Lots of people mustve seen them as it was busy.
Sat 8th Jan - 3 over Hulme Rd, Dane Bank, Denton early afternoon then a single about 5 minutes later. Sun 9th Jan - 1 over Hulme Rd, Dane Bank early morning
Hulme Community Garden Centre 22-12-21. Flock of 13 flew across East to West for the third time this week all early morning. Unlike the other mornings a group of 4 followed them a couple of minutes later and then a flock of 21, in 3 loose groups, followed within a further 2 to 3 minutes. 20 minutes later I heard further calls and found 3 individuals in treetop, NW corner of centre. 1 eventually departed and the other 2 flew onto the adjacent telephone tower. Watched one for several minutes nibbling the wires. First time in a month Ive seen any come into our trees.
Largest group for some time over Hulme Community Garden Centre this morning at 8.25am. 27 Parakeets in two groups, flew East to West screeching loudly.
Regular early morning visitors to Hulme community garden centre. They prefer the hour or two after daybreak, varies from 2 to 17 and visits can be a flypast or stays of up to 15 minutes.
Single over Reddish works yard at 8am this morning. Came over from the Fallowfield Loop path, zig zagging but flying in the general direction of Dane Bank.
Heard only! Single bird in Mums back garden (Dane Bank, Denton) briefly yesterday lunchtime. I could hear it calling a few times but as I walked into the lounge one of the garden feeders was swinging away but no bird!
