This morning 90 south-east over Winstanley-Bryn, Wigan 07:25
Over the Wigan Flashes: Two skeins of 290 and 365 south-east 07:45 110 south-east 07:58, with 8 slowly north-west soon after 12 low north-west 08:25, then 5 circling the area 41 north-west 08:59 100 north-west 09:10
Three skeins east over Ashton-in-Makerfield this morning all contained approx 170 birds, one at 07:15 and two separate skeins at 07:37. One skein of the same size then went low W at 08:10.
Over Higher End, Billinge 25 west at 10:03, 199 north-west 10:28
C60 from Oldham Town Centre at 16.10 this afternoon. They were low enough to be obscured by buildings around Mumps Bridge but from the size probably north of Oldham Edge. Appeared as 2 parallel rows from the SW before reforming as a conventional skein and heading E , as if they were changing direction.
35 south this morning over Higher End, Billinge at 09:47. Thirteen of these broke off and flew E, with the rest turning back in to West Lancs (at one point 28 separate skeins were visible in the air over West Lancs and the Sefton Coast)
A good-sized flock of Pink-footed Geese in several skeins went over Fairywell Wood on the Timperley/Wythenshawe border high approx west at about 5.25pm. A very quick, rough count came out at c. 350, give or take 50 or so. One of the larger groups i've seen over the years i think.
