Perhaps the best week's garden viewing in 21 years started with a huge passage of Swifts 5/8, perhaps 500+ all going south. On Wed, 8th, a full adult Med Gull circled around in the evening for about 1/4 hour, following harvesting in the adjoining field, and on Thurs 8th 4 Buzzards soared for over half an hour before being joined by 2 Kestrels and 1 Sparrowhawk. That evening Little and Tawny Owls and Grey Partridge were calling and the next day (9th) an unidentified Harrier, almost certainly a Marsh glided high, heading south at midday. A Yellowhammer visited the the feeder in the garden the same day and was followed by a Willow Tit that evening (5 species of tit that day). The Willow Tit re-appeared the following evening. Willow Tit has not been previously recorded in the garden. Finally on Sun 12th , a Ring-necked Parakeet flew noisily over.
