Eastern rosella parakeet in paloma park benalmadena.he was a long way from home as he is a native of australia.he was in a tree with a group of monk parakeets and wasnt tame.
Well though I have 3000 of the noisy b***ers roosting on my local patch in NW London (and I'd be doing a roost count as part of Project Parakeet this evening, if I were at home), but actually I'm spending a weekend in Paris visiting friends and it was quite a surprise to hear and then see one (Rose-Ringed rather than Monk) calling from a tree by the Seine this afternoon near Croissy.

I recall enjoying a nice curry at a roof-top resteraunt in Mysore, India in Dec '97 when countless ( meaning I didn't count them - but there were lots - several flocks ) of Ring - necked Parakeets flying low overhead and making lots of noise on their way to roost. They didn't distract me enough from my curry and let it go 'cold' ( not possible - it's hot when it's 'cold' !) to count them.

Who wants to go to Rusholme to see Parakeets?, Ive a much better alternative. Just returned from 3 days in Barcelona , 18 th birthday treat for baby son. Monk Parakeets everywhere in the City and the weathers nicer than Rusholme!. Also 100+ Alpine Swifts flying above the Camp Nou stadium which by the way is not a patch on Eastlands
