RE: listing

The voice of reason has spoken againest Beelzebub the lister many thanks judy we are all in awe of your abilities to keep the records in correct order....

However ian has raised an old desire in me that has been dormant for a number of years, back in 1990 i was led astray into the Twiiching world and for ten years I roamed around the British isles chasing everthing that I had not seen and i had bloody good fun,

with the advent of chilldren i had to dampen down my travels, but now i see a way out...

having missed the rochdale gannet i am begining to feel gripped off.... can it be possilbe to get into the GMC 200 club

I will have to double check my records but I believe i may have a good amount to start with.

oh ian what have you unleased......................

I've often thought it would be an idea to have a Recorder for each borough - there are recorders already for Rochdale and Oldham who produce excellent reports. It would help me a lot!
Obviously people can keep whatever lists they want (and they do!) but in a national context Greater Manchester is the recording county and is composed of the 10 metro boroughs or city councils.

Dave, I keep a Wigan Borough list (see profile/biography) and I once asked Ian about a Metropolitan Borough List section for the main site, but a little more arm-twisting is needed methinks !

Paul, as you will know, Gtr. Manchester is made up of 10 Metropolitan Boroughs and `Manchester` is one of them, so get that list goin` ! smile.gif

had many a discussion on this point and never got a satifactory answer,

what about a manchester list that would only take in manchester not oldham bolton rochdale or any other bits that have become greater manchester.

I was born and bred in manchester and would not count bolton or wigan on a manchester list ...so saying you would then end up with a pathetic list..

would there be interest in life lists for each of the Metropolitan areas in GM? I gather the rochdale birders are quite active on this.

On this topic - the Astley Moss Bufflehead was in Salford - but watching it involved standing in Wigan - would this count on my Wigan list?? This potentially life-changing point is giving me sleepless nights and if unresolved could lead to me encasing my bins and scope in concrete and throwing them in t'River Duggy.
