This afternoon, at least six Tree Sparrows along the western edge in gardens backing onto Pennington Brook. Five adult Sedge Warblers, three adult Reed Warblers, family party of Willow Tits, other singing warblers included nine Chiffchaffs, three Willow Warblers, two Whitethroats, four Blackcaps and a Cetti’s Warbler. Only one brood of Gadwall.
At least five Little Egrets in the grass fields just south of Hope Carr along the northern edge of the A580 just west of the Greyhound Hotel early afternoon today.

I also had three in the field closest to the East Lancs Road at 2pm and then at 4pm just the one, sat atop the hawthorn bush in the middle of the field!

A single Little Egret in the fields just west of the Greyhound Roundabout along the northern side of the A580 mid-afternoon today, prominently sat atop the Hawthorne hedge!
Five Little Egrets around standing water in the field west of Greyhound roundabout, near the farm/garden centre, late morning. Six there as I passed back the other way around 1pm
At 2:35pm today there were five Little Egrets feeding in the short grass paddock along the north side of the A580 East Lancs Road, just west of the Greyhound Roundabout/Leigh Cats and Dogs Home!

At 2:30 this afternoon the four Little Egrets were again feeding in the paddock on the north side of the A580 immediately west of the Greyhound Roundabout/Leigh Dogs and Cats Home, clearly unconcerned by the heavy volume of noisy traffic passing only 40 feet or so away!

At 2:30 this afternoon the four Little Egrets were again feeding in the paddock on the north side of the A580 immediately west of the Greyhound Roundabout/Leigh Dogs and Cats Home, clearly unconcerned by the heavy volume of noisy traffic passing only 40 feet or so away!
At 2pm this afternoon, two Little Egrets were feeding in the short grass paddock on the northern side of the A580 East Lancs Road immediately west of the Greyhound Roundabout and travelling back past at just before 4pm there were four present, still feeding in the same field.
