Juvenile male Garganey on no. 1 (for its 3rd day ) but elusive
Also c20 Teal, 2 Shoveler, 7 Wigeon, 3 Goldeneye, 10 Goosander, a Common Sandpiper and a Rock Pipit.
In the morning, there were 2 x 1 swallows on passage, a skylark was leaving the site as I arrived, 2 reed buntings (starting to build up!!), and a distant buzzard. Glad to read that the garganey is elusive. I can feel better about not seeing it! Also, I looked at quite a lot of meadow pipits 10+, so the rock might have been where I wasn't. That's the thing about here. It's a big site!

Both parents are doing a really great job seeing off any potential threats and regularly bring in food to the young. Hopefully all will now do well.
