5/7/2018 some combined sightings from the last two days.

3 Black-tailed Godwit briefly this morning, 10 flew through yesterday.
Male Ruff today.
Common Sandpiper.
1 Ringed Plover.
4 Dunlin.
3 Raven over yesterday.
1 Common Tern today.
2 Mediterranean Gull today, adult and 2nd summer.
2 Goldeneye.

A stunning melanistic Black-headed Gull has also been around for a couple of days

Probably a Goosander, but as I was travelling past on the motorway this morning a very long necked 'diver' looking bird flew across into number 3 reservoir. If anyone is not at work all day then might be worth checking.

Also 2 Sanderling, Dunlin and Oystercatcher

From about 12.30

Around 1.30 a Bar-tailed Godwit dropped in, it stayed until about 2pm when it flew off north.

Most waders were on the west side of no 1 with the smaller waders relocating to the islands

At least 2 Dunlin present

Other sightings were mostly the same as Chris's

Quite a few casual visitors arrived around 2pm and the Greenshank was flushed several times.

A great selection of waders present today and great to see these birds in breeding plumage. smile

10-11.30 this morning 

Greenshank, Dunlin, Sanderling, 3 Turnstone, 10 Ringed Plover, Redshank, Linnet, 8 Common Swift, 2 Sand Martin, 12 Great Crested Grebe, 2 Grey Wagtail, Mistle Thrush  6 Tufted Duck, 12 Swallow.

A site regular also saw 9 Arctic Terns on no 2 as well as the Black Terns. These birds left before I arrived.

Early afternoon

Two Arctic Terns dropped in on no 2 and flew briefly onto no 1 but didn't linger

Also breeding plumaged Sanderling present No further sign of the Blue-headed Wagtail

Just for a bit of interest there was a Bar-headed Goose on no1 this morning, firmly in cat E but always nice to see a new bird on a local patch whatever the origins.
Not much else around, Ringed Plover, 8 Tufted Duck and a drake Goldeneye.

5 arctic terns, which arrived mid a.m., were top of the 'best of' what was seen this morning. Other than that it was mostly stuff seen on other days recently (e.g. wheatears, dunlins, ringed plovers etc...)

First swifts of year 6+; 2 house martins, 25+ sand martins, 30+ swallows, 2 yellow wagtails, 3 dunlin, 5+ ringed plover, 3 little ringed plover, 1 common sandpiper, 1 curlew, 2 blackcaps along railway side. Expected more suprises in view of weather.
